R&CA Partnership

Restaurant & Catering Association and greenspace.com are focused on how we can move the needle on the role of the chef in securing a sustainable food future and to achieve the goal of producing greens, including microgreens, berries, speciality natives, mushrooms, spinach, arugula, lettuce and herbs, to be sold locally at an affordable price. R&CA is committed to ensuring that the industry is recognised as one of excellence, professionalism, profitability and sustainability within its broader social and economic contributions. This includes promoting and advocating the value of the restaurant experience to the public. Together we want to to bring sustainable agriculture into the urban environment.

FOOD FOR CITIES OF THE FUTURE

greenspace.com is an Australian technology start-up focused on food security and activating circular economic models powered by a digital platform that enables  vertical farming on scale through to greening work environments and on-site composting. We surface scalable yield opportunities, tenant benefits, that evolve our cities from grey to sustainable green environments.

Our Mission

We inspire healthier communities by connecting people to real local food. We know that greenspace is a critical link between building owners, growers and consumers, and we feel a responsibility to protect the future of real food. We want to make an impact and create transparency around what’s in your food and where it came from, and to enable more accessibility to healthy food for more people to reflect the needs of the community.

Local food benefits

Locally grown food is full of flavor when grown locally, the crops are picked at their peak of ripeness  Eating local food is eating seasonally, purchased directly from a local grower and taste better than the ones trucked into cities Local food has more nutrients because there is a shorter time between harvest and your table Local food supports the local economy and services in your community Local food benefits the environment by reducing food miles Local foods promote a safer food supply Local growers deliver provenance and can tell you how the food was grown and even predict crop supply
